SSSTS stands for (Site Supervision Safety Training Scheme) and is a CITB (Construction Industry Training Board) course. It is aimed at those people who are already or about to be in a supervisory role in construction, with the responsibilities that come with that role.
The course will provide supervisors with information and understanding of the Health and Safety, Legal, Welfare and Environmental responsibilities. The SSSTS Course is overseen by the CITB (Construction Industry Training Board) and is 2 days long. The Qualification has to be renewed every 5 years by a 1-day refresher course.

What does it cover?
During the course a number of topics will be covered including: Duties under the Health and Safety at Work Act, Risk Assessments, effective communication of health and safety and supervision of it.
Can I obtain a Grant to contribute to the cost?
For those companies who are registered with the CITB, you will be able to claim (subject to CITB approval) monies to pay for part of this course for this course. Please ask our administrators about how to do this if you are registered with the CITB.
